Dr. Kimberly Mistarz was born in the Chicago suburbs, but moved with her family to Gainesville, Georgia at a young age.
She attended Clemson University (Go Tigers!), where she received a Biological Sciences degree prior to attending the University of Georgia where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2019.
Most recently, Dr. Mistarz graduated from LSU Shreveport with her Master of Business Administration. She began practicing veterinary medicine in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia where she worked both in emergency medicine and general practice.
She then moved to the New Orleans area in 2022 with her husband, Austin, as he began an anesthesia residency at LSU. Here, she has worked in a variety of local small animal clinics prior to joining Animal Hospital of Old Metairie as their lead veterinarian.
Her veterinary interests include soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine, and preventative medicine.
When out of the office, Dr. Mistarz spends much of her time spoiling her loveable Golden mix, Ellie, unruly Weimaraner, Leila, and simpleminded Great Dane, Kolache. She also enjoys traveling, watching Clemson Football, and supporting craft breweries.
